How much will it rain in Los Angeles by the end of October?

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – As the spooky season ends, wet weather won’t give up yet, with rain and storms expected to persist as October wraps up over the next few days.

Despite recent nasty weather, Los Angeles has experienced just 0.69 inches of rain so far this month, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

This comes as portions of the California coast are expected to see severe conditions and higher-than-normal tides throughout the week, with record high tides already observed in Los Angeles.

Coastal flood advisories are in effect.

As Halloween approaches, Los Angeles is set to see showers on Saturday and Sunday for the holiday weekend.

In light of the severe conditions and precipitation headed to the City of Angels, prediction markets at Kalshi are breaking down the chances of how much rain will fall by the end of the month.

Experts at Kalshi expect a 15% chance of more than an inch of rainfall in Los Angeles by the end of October, though the city has a small chance of reaching that level.
