The summer’s final Manhattanhenge phenomenon is hitting New York City streets—will the weather cooperate?
NEW YORK CITY – Manhattanhenge is returning to New York City this weekend, but whether New Yorkers and tourists get a front-row seat to the iconic sunset spectacle will depend on one key factor: the weather.
This weekend, with both a full and half Manhattanhenge show set to take center stage in the Big Apple, the FOX Forecast Center is calling for a favorable viewing experience on both Saturday and Sunday.
The "full Sun" Manhattanhenge — the main event of the July spectacle — takes place Saturday evening. Sunset is at 8:28 p.m. ET, with partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the upper 70s.

The clouds are associated with a cold front pushing southeast through the region. As the front moves away, skies are expected to gradually clear, improving viewing conditions around sunset.

By Sunday evening, skies should be mostly clear, providing even better viewing conditions for the "half sun" phase.
Sunset is at 8:27 p.m. ET, with comfortable temperatures expected as the weekend comes to a close.
Manhattanhenge is a phenomenon in which the setting sun perfectly aligns with Manhattan's east-west street grid. It occurs twice each year—once in late May and again in mid-July—and can be viewed during either the "full sun" or "half sun" phase as the sun aligns with the New York streets at sunset.
