See it: California beachgoers capture video of monster great white shark leaping out of the water
MARINA, Calif. — A beachgoer in Marina, California, captured dramatic video of a large shark beaching the waves along Marina State Beach Saturday.
The large shark leaped straight up, emerging almost completely out of the water.
Comments from California State Parks officials to local media confirmed that it was in fact a Great White Shark in the video.
According to the Smithsonian Natural History Museum, Great White's can jump as high as 10 feet into the air.
The Great White's range extends from Alaska to Mexico along the Pacific coast and is found up and down the Eastern Seaboard, the Gulf and the Caribbean in the Atlantic Basin.
