Reports: Beachgoer bitten by shark at Jones Beach on Long Island
A swimmer was reportedly bitten by a shark on Friday afternoon at Jones Beach Field 6 on Long Island, sources tell FOX 5 New York.
Sources told FOX 5 New York that the shark attack happened around 12 p.m.
According to FOX Weather sources, swimmers at the beach in Breezy Point, New York, were pulled from the waters by lifeguards due to reported shark sightings.
Breezy Point is approximately 20 miles from Jones Beach. Whether it's the same shark causing trouble at both beaches, is unclear.
On Thursday, beaches in Far Rockaway, Queens, were closed because of reported shark sightings.
