Paul Delano Strawderman, age 91, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Friday, August 29, 2025 at Winchester Medical Center.

Born September 8, 1933 in Cumberland, Md., he was the son of the late Calvin Asa and Anna Helen Carder Strawderman.

He was a member of Trinity-Asbury United Methodist Church.

Paul was a graduate of James Wood High School in Winchester, Va. He was in the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War.

He was the owner-operator of the Montgomery-Ward Catalog Agency in Hancock, Md.

Paul served as Mayor of Berkeley Springs and was a member of the Berkeley Springs Town of Bath Council. He was a life member of Risinger-Stotler VFW Post #4019. He was a Scoutmaster of Berkeley Springs Troop #99 Shenandoah Area Council.

He loved to play golf and volunteered at Cacapon State Park golf course.

Paul is survived by his children, Virginia Ann Stotler of Point Harbor, N.C., Rodney Alan Strawderman (Beth) and Susan Lynn Unger (Paul) of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., Diana Leigh Haines (Chris) of Ruther Glen, Va., Amy Elizabeth Blackman (Ed) of Crozet, Va., ten grandchildren, Heather, Amanda, Allyson, Rebecca, Samantha, Jordan, Christopher, MaryAnn, Emma and Jeb, and ten great grandchildren, Taylor, Ava, Claire, L.J., Emmie, Evelyn, Eva, Camille, Vivian and Isaiah.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Evelyn Marie Brown Strawderman, four sisters and three brothers.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. with Pastor Chuck Bergen officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service.
