Celebration gone wrong: Skydiver crashes into California rodeo during Fourth of July stunt
It was a terrifying start to Fourth of July celebrations as a skydiver crashed into the Folsom Pro Rodeo in Folsom, California, on Thursday.
In a video filmed by a rodeo attendee, the skydiver is seen crashing into the venue with an American flag attached to him.
The skydiver, Ross Vail, was performing a stunt when the American flag became snagged on a tree, causing him to make a hard landing near several small tents and nearly avoided crashing into the stands.
In a statement, the Folsom Pro Rodeo said Vail was not injured.
"Ross is safe and walked into our arena, post jump, to a standing ovation," the Folsom Pro Rodeo wrote in a social media post.

Vail reattempted the stunt on July 4, successfully landing inside the stadium. The Folsom Pro Rodeo shared video of the successful jump on social media.
"We shared that Ross was safe and would be back in the air tonight," the Folsom Pro Rodeo wrote. "He kept that promise and delivered a perfect landing to kick off another incredible night at the Folsom Pro Rodeo."
Saturday marked the final night of the Folsom Pro Rodeo.
